The honest answer? It totally depends on the scope. A slick 15-second motion graphic for social media is going to move a lot faster than a 60-second, frame-by-frame cel animation.
Because we act as your production arm, our favorite approach is to work backward from your deadline. Just let us know when your client needs the final files, and we’ll build a realistic milestone schedule to get us there.
As a general rule of thumb:
One Minute of Motion Graphics & Explainers: Usually take about 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to final render, depending on the complexity.
One Minute of Cel / Frame-by-Frame Animation: Since this involves drawing every single frame, expect anywhere from 4 to 12+ weeks for a high-quality piece.
